• A delicate plant must be nurtured in the right conditions.
• There are seasons of growth and seasons of die-back.
• There is always unpredictability.
• I have to plant many seeds and expect that just a few will make it through.
• A lot can be learnt about how to nurture a particular plant by observing something similar that lives in the wild.
